Compare Excel files by SKU: free supplier price-list comparison

See what changed between two supplier price lists. Match products by SKU, even when rows move, and separate price changes from new, removed and unresolved products.

Free · No account · Files stay in your browser

Exact text matching is the default. Both files must use the same currency, units and tax basis. No fuzzy matching or currency conversion.

How to compare Excel files by SKU

  1. Choose last month’s and this month’s CSV or .xlsx file. Select the relevant worksheet in each workbook.
  2. Choose the product identifier and price column independently for each file. Column names and row order can differ.
  3. Keep exact SKU matching, or explicitly enable whitespace trimming and case-insensitive matching. Choose the decimal separator used by both price lists.
  4. Compare the files and review added, removed, changed, unchanged and unresolved records. Download the full purchasing report and a separate problem list.

Why matching by SKU matters

A supplier can sort the same products differently each month. Comparing row positions would make an unchanged catalog look different. This tool matches identifiers instead. It compares the selected price fields; it does not compare formatting, formulas, every workbook cell or unrelated product columns.

How are price changes calculated?

Difference is the current price minus the previous price. Percentage change uses the previous price as its baseline and rounds to two decimal places. A previous price of zero has no percentage baseline. Prices must be nonnegative plain decimals, with up to six decimal places and no currency or thousands separators. Both files must use the same currency, units and tax basis; this tool does not convert them.

What about duplicate or missing SKUs?

Duplicate identifiers remain unresolved, including collisions created by optional normalization. Missing identifiers and invalid prices are reported. Numeric or date-formatted Excel identifiers also require review because their original text may already be lost. Use a trustworthy text SKU column rather than guessing leading zeros.

Free limits and privacy

Up to 5 MB per file, 5,000 rows per input or converted table, 120 columns and 250,000 cells. A comparison can produce up to 10,000 report rows. Preview shows 50 rows; downloads contain the complete result. Processing stops after 30 seconds and can be cancelled. Expanded output text is limited to 20 MB, with at most 20,000 findings per operation. Performance depends on your device.

Files are processed in a local browser worker and are not sent to our server. Scripts are served by this website, with no remote conversion service. Saved setups stay in this browser until you delete them. Clearing the tool removes its file and result state; downloaded files remain on your device.

XML DTDs and entity declarations are rejected. Excel input supports .xlsx values, with a 20 MB expanded-workbook limit. Formulas, macros, embedded images/objects, binary workbook parts and external workbook links are unsupported; export reviewed values first. Old .xls files must be resaved as .xlsx or CSV.
